The purpose of this document is to provide the correct steps when implementing Lead Commerce. It can be used by clients as well as support staff.
PLEASE FOLLOW THE ORDER OF EACH AREA IN SEQUENCE. IT HAS BEEN DEVELOPED IN THE ORDER REQUIRED.
PHASE 1
Product Templates
Product Templates define how a product will look if using the Lead Commerce B2B Ecommerce website option. NOTE: They are REQUIRED even if you are not using this option.

Customer Types
Customer Types are groups that you define in Lead Commerce that control pricing, discounts, shipping providers and payment options. For example, if you sell to say regular customers and customers who are apart of your rewards program who receive 10% off everything in your catalog, then you might have two different groups (i.e. Customer Types); Regular Members and Reward Members. Or if you sell products to regular businesses and government agencies, you might have two Customer Types; Regular Business and Government. The point is that Customer Types allow you to define and group the different types of people or organizations that you sell to.

Warehouses
Warehouses let you define where your inventory is stored. Warehouses can be buildings, cities, states. Warehouses should not be confused with the actual location of an individual item in a building. That is called Bin Location and is discussed later when importing and creating your Stock Keeping Units (SKUs).

Vendors
Vendors are the businesses you purchase products from. In some cases, you might simply resell products you buy from your Vendors to your customers. You might purchase components or ingredients from Vendors and use that in your production process to produce your finished item that you sell.

Product Types
Product Types are high level classifications of the items you sell, inventory and use. For example, lets say you have items that you use for internal use within your company that you want to track usage of (i.e. inventory), but you don't sell. Additionally, you have

PHASE 2
You should now take the time to consider the number of Product Types you will need. Here are some questions to consider when deciding how many Product Types to create:
- Do you have products that you buy in bulk and then resell to your customers?
- Do you have products you want to inventory (i.e. track stock levels), but do not sell to your customers?
- Do you have products that are sold with unlimited inventory (i.e. services, ebooks, music downloads, etc)?
- Do you have products that are used in a production process and assembled into something else?
- Do you have products that are sold as bundles or Kits?
- Do you have products that are sold or used fractionally?
