This support article covers how you (the Merchant) using Lead Commerce can process credit cards from customers who live outside of the United States (i.e. Canada, UK, EMEA).
First off, it is important to understand that Lead Commerce is not processing the Credit Cards your customers provide you. We are simply passing the credit card information to the payment gateway(s) we support.
What payment gateways do you support?
Currently, we support Authorize.net and Stripe.com.
What do I need to have to work with these providers?
You, as the merchant, will need a U.S.-based bank account. In some cases, your bank might also require you to establish a merchant account with them and/or provide additional documentation.
What credit cards do these gateways support?
- American Express
- Mastercard
- VISA
- Discover
- JCB
- Diners Club
Can I process international payments using these gateways?
Yes. However, you will need to ensure that you have contacted the payment gateway provider (i.e. Stripe or Authorize.net) to ensure your gateway is properly configured to accept international credit cards displayed above.
PLEASE NOTE:
If you are using Authorize.net you will need to contact your account representitive as well as your banking institution and ensure both parties understand you will be taking credit cards from international banking customers.
For Stripe gateway users, you will need to contact Stripe support, and ensure they understand you will be accepting payment from international customers, and also if need be, to remove any validation checks on your account, to ensure proper processing.
How do I configure my Authorize.net or Stripe account in Lead Commerce, once I have signed up with them?
See the following support articles for information on how to configure these, once signed up:
