Happy Holidays from Lead Commerce. Here is another edition of What's New.
Stripe
More native support for the Stripe gateway has been added. The benefits of Stripe are considerable as they have lower fees when compared to other card not present payment processors. The integration with Stripe also opens up the door for another feature that we will be adding in the next few months which will be Subscriptions.
USPS
We have added more native support for USPS which now includes both live rating as well as label generation through Stamps.com. This allows Lead Commerce to generate lower shipping rates for our merchants than going directly to USPS directly themselves. To learn more, read our articles on Configuring USPS in Lead Commerce and the USPS Web Tools API setup.
Card on File Payment Option
Lead Commerce has added the Payment Method, Card on File for those merchants who process credit card payments on a stored credit card. This option can be turned on by going to Sales > Configuration > Payment Methods.
Payment Notes Section
A new tab has been created within the backoffice of Lead Commerce when applying a Payment. You can now enter in specific notes about the Payment itself by using the new Notes tab.
Packaging
The ability to define Packages is not an option within specific Shipping Providers of the Lead Commerce platform. You can now indicate to USPS, FedEx and UPS the specific package you will be using in order to ship the item(s) on a Fulfillment. This is extremely useful for merchants as it will lower the shipping fees you receive per Fulfillment by filling out this information prior to requesting a shipping label.
Shipping Address Validation
Lead Commerce now supports full shipping address validation. With Address Validation, any addresses that have been entered into the system either by your customer through the storefront checkout or within the backoffice New Order functionality, will now be validated for accuracy. In most cases, if an address cannot be found, the system will auto-fix the address for you to ensure your shipments are error free.
SEO Breadcrumbs
We enhanced our theming language FLEX to now allow for the generation of pre-populated breadcrumbs. This is a new output tag called "breadcrumb" and can be called into any theme with the following command {breadcrumb}.
Next and Previous Scroll
Lead Commerce added another new output tag called "Scroll Link". This allows web designers and template integrators to pull in a scroll feature for blogs, products and more. This is a very cool feature that can allow multiple products to be scrolled through very quickly from a navigational perspective.
